Roadmap
EthicalUse is a bold and important initiative, and will require the support and dedication of people and organizations from a variety of industries in order to realize its full potential. Our plan is to evolve EthicalUse.org in phases.
Phase 1 (complete)
Set up website, establish core values, principles, and messaging. Create initial version of pledge and begin spreading the word
Phase 2 (current phase)
Gather cross-disciplinary advisors and supporters from relevant industries and backgrounds. Primary ones are musicians, artists, producers, computer scientists, ethicists, and music industry professionals. It is our belief that we will require a diverse set of backgrounds and viewpoints to achieve our goal.
Stay tuned, we are really excited about some of the people who are already interested and involved! It’s great to see so much support from the artistic community.
Phase 3
While continuing to grow the group of advisors and supporters, the existing group will meet regularly to discuss and implement strategy and actions that can be taken to guide each relevant field towards the proper and ethical use of AI in the arts. We do not believe in a “top down approach,” rather we believe involving a diverse set of voices directly in the conversation, which is why we cannot skip to Phase 3 yet.
It is our current belief that this will be a combination of education, awareness, creation of responsible technology itself, and a supreme focus and dedication to empowering real artists, musicians, and producers, providing them with the edge that they need to stay ahead of the curve and have the ability to continue to express themselves fully and inspire us.
